Co-Founder and Co-CEO Matthew Buffa has relocated from Sydney to lead operations from Capital Factory, Austin's premier technology hub and startup accelerator. The move positions Breaker at the heart of America's defense innovation ecosystem while maintaining strong engineering ties to the company's Australian roots.
"Austin offers unparalleled access to defense customers, top-tier engineering talent, and a thriving robotics community," said Buffa. "Being at Capital Factory puts us in the center of both the startup ecosystem and defense tech networks we need to scale Avalon across the industry."
The Austin office will serve as Breaker's primary base for US operations, customer engagement, and partnerships with defense primes and robotics manufacturers. The company's Sydney office continues as a core engineering hub, with the dual-office structure enabling round-the-clock development and direct access to key markets in both hemispheres.
Since opening in Austin, Breaker has accelerated partnerships with US-based robotics companies and defense organizations, building on recent successful demonstrations with USSOCOM and other key customers.
The company continues to expand its team across both locations, recruiting engineers and operators experienced in defense robotics, autonomous systems, and AI deployment.
